Europeans choose artificial intelligence at work
A European Commission survey shows that most employees see AI

Most Europeans support the use of Artificial Intelligence at work – European Commission Survey
Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer just a futuristic concept, it has become a part of daily life and of the global economy. In a recent survey conducted by the European Commission, the majority of citizens from EU member states declared that they are in favor of using AI at the workplace, seeing it as an opportunity for growth and innovation.
Why Europeans support AI at work?
According to the study, over 65% of respondents believe that artificial intelligence can bring real benefits in daily activities. The main advantages are:
▪️Reducing repetitive tasks
▪️Improving productivity
▪️Increasing innovation and competitivity
One respondent from Germany said: "AI doesn’t take my job away, it gives me tools to work smarter, not harder."
Concerns: fear of loosing jobs
Still, not everything is perfect. About 30% of respondents said they are afraid that AI might replace traditional jobs, especially in transport, logistics, production and administration. Reports show that by 2030 almost 20% of current jobs could be affected by automation and digitalization.
However, the EU highlights that new jobs will also appear in IT, data analysis, cybersecurity and digital services. That’s why reskilling and upskilling are so important for workers.
AI regulations: building trust
Europeans support AI also because the EU is a world leader in regulation. The AI Act sets clear rules for:
▪️Transparency in AI
▪️Data protection
▪️Banning high-risk applications (like abusive face recognition)
▪️Ethics and accountability
Thanks to this, employees feel safer that AI will be used to assist, not to completely replace them.
Real examples from European companies
▪️Bosch uses AI to optimize production and reduce waste.
▪️Siemens applies predictive maintenance algorithms in infrastructure.
▪️Start-ups in France and Netherlands create AI solutions for HR.
These show that AI is not only theory, but practical solutions improving daily work.
Preparing employees for the future
Training and education are key. Many Europeans already invest in:
▪️Machine learning & data science
▪️Cybersecurity
▪️Big data & cloud computing
Universities and training centers provide more and more reskilling programs so people don’t fall behind.
AI and ethics
How much should we allow AI to decide for us? Many europeans insist that critical decisions must remain in human hands, especially in medicine, justice and hiring.
The future of work is hybrid – human + AI
The survey proves it: most Europeans see AI as an opportunity. But its succes will depend on clear rules, training programs and collaboration between humans and technology.
The future of work in Europe will be hybrid, where people and AI work together for a more productive and inovative society.
