Medb, Queen of Connacht
Introduction This is my fourth piece inspired by Justine G. Cappelli's gorgeous artwork. Medb is pronounced "Maeve" (/meΙͺv/ or MAY-v). This ancient Irish name, often associated with the mythological Queen of Connacht, derives from Old Irish and corresponds to modern Irish spellings like MΓ©abh or Meadhbh. It is commonly understood to mean "she who intoxicates" or "meadow".

Whitby In Yorkshire With Anchorage Alaska
Introduction While I was walking in Pannett Park, I noticed the lamp post above and found it was presented to Whitby from its sister city, Anchorage, in Alaska. Below is the plaque, and then I remember the statue of Captain Cook on West Cliff that has a similar inscription, but I don't have a personal picture of this. I found this:
