Do not hear this Playlist on Halloween!
Listen at your own risk
The first time that I've heard about Halloween was when I was ten years old and learning a new language in English classes. Don't get me wrong, I've seen Halloween in movies on TV, but preparing and enjoying Halloween it's a whole new part of it.
I love horror movies since I remember their existence, so this festivity kind of makes me want to join. In more reserved parts of society, the approach to this time of the year is a retail one. It's similar to our Christmas, we decorate our houses with motives, and we go to parties inspired by that theme. I'm speaking generally, since people who believe in X-mas, have all that traditional Portuguese way of celebrating. But let's set that aside and evolve to the playlist — finally!
Music by Movies or Series
Since my first approach to Halloween were the movies and kids' series, I want to start there!
“This is Halloween”, by Marilyn Manson
I'm in love with all of Tim Burton's movies. So, I could be more proud to start with one of the best songs. If you've seen “The Nightmare Before Christmas” movie, I bet you have this engraved in your mind! Let's sing it, shall we?
“The Addams Family” series, by Amc Orchestra
My kid inside is feeling nostalgic. I was always so happy to see this on television. My fingers like to follow the music. The Halloween feeling is there, flowering inside!
“I Put A Spell On You”, by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker & Kathy Najimy
From “Hocus Pocus” to the world! Such an oldie, that's a shame that I couldn't forget it!
“System”, by Korn
From the “Queen of the Damned” movie. I could resist! I was about to play all soundtrack here because it's one of my favorite ones to sing.
“Myers 10/31”, by Blitzkid
A piece of music from the “Let Flowers Die” movie, a good way to shake our heads! Since I love rock, so we would have a lot of them here. This is one to add to the mix.
Oldies but besties!
There is a deep feeling within me with this music that I can't even start to speak about it! Since I am a fan of horror, psyche, and suspense stories and themes, all that can give me the inspiration to write about that is a must!
But, sometimes, you need the old music to enter into that feeling of shaking your bones, eat some candies, and 'feel the vibe'! Go, pick up some sweet stuff and let's go back in time! Let's go there, shall we?
“Monster Mash”, by Bobby "Boris" Pickett
Oh, what's growing inside? I am the worst dancer. But this calls for a butt swing! I can't say anything better than listening to music. So classy!
“Graveyard Cha Cha”, by The Three D's
I love the way that Cha Cha has a place on Halloween too. Not that I can dance it, I am the worst dancer.
“Thriller”, by Michael Jackson
I like a lot of this kind of music, and if you want to hear it, you can check it here. I want to show you all something funny: this music is not alone.
India has its own version, "Golimaar Song by Chiranjeevi, Radha"! It is so funny that I wanted to share!
“Halloween”, by Helloween
I wasn't born yet when they started singing this one. Of course, that I wouldn't forget to add them! Can you feel it? Let's get into Halloween once more!
Out of the box
There is an infinitude of music that could make this playlist, but this has to have an end. Because of that, I could not forget some songs that aren't usually heard at parties, but that fit like a glove.
“Kill Everybody”, by Skrillex
If Covid-19 could choose a playlist, this one would be there!
“Sticks & Stones”, by The Pierces
This is a group that I like a lot. Sit back down and check into those Sticks and Stones!
“Kill Everybody” Album, by Ghostmane
This is the last music. Or better, an entire album! It's dangerous to say that this is one Halloween music since it could be a playlist itself! For you, that like different things, this album is for you!
