The best of Tom Jones

Welsh singer Tom Jones has sold over 100 million records and had close to 40 top 40 hits in the United Kingdom and almost 20 in the United States. His most significant commercial success occurred in the 1960s.

“Delilah” is a song that was recorded by Tom Jones in 1967. The lyrics were written by Barry Mason with music by Les Reed. It earned Reed and Mason the 1968 Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. Jones’ version went to number one in many countries and charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He performed it in 1968 on “The Ed Sullivan Show.”

“Green, Green Grass of Home” is a song that was written by Claude “Cudy” Putman Jr. and originally recorded by singer Johnny Darrel as a country song in 1965. When Tom Jones recorded the song in 1966, it became a worldwide number one hit. The song went to number one of the UK Singles chart and charted on the Easy Listening chart.

“Help Yourself” is a song that was recorded by Jones in 1968. It is among his best-known songs, charting on the UK Singles chart and the Billboard charts in the US. It is still widely played on adult standard radio.

“I Who Have Nothing” is an English language cover of the Italian song “Uno dei tanti,” or “One of Many.” Tom Jones recorded his version of this song in 1970, and it charted on the Billboard Hot 100, Easy Listening, and Cash Box charts.

"I'll Never Fall in Love Again" is a popular song that was recorded by Tom Jones, in 1967.  The song was written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David for the musical “Promises, Promises.” It became one of Jones's signature hits and charted on the UK Singles and Billboard Hot 100 charts.

“It’s Not Unusual” is a song that was written by Les Reed and Gordan Mills. It was among the first songs recorded by Tom Jones. The song went to the top of the UK Singles chart and became his first hit in the US, charting on the Billboard Easy Listening chart. Jones performed the song three times on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” The song became the theme song of his TV musical variety series, “This is Tom Jones.”

“Kiss” is a song that was recorded as a cover version of the American musician Prince’s song by Tom Jones and featured on his 1989 album At This Moment.

“Love Me Tonight” is a song that was recorded by Jones and charted on the Adult Contemporary, Billboard Hot 100, and UK Singles charts. It is a reworked English-language version of the Italian song "Alla fine della strada" ("To the End of the Road"), which was written by Lorenzo Pilat, with lyrics by Mario Panzen and Daniele Pace.

“She’s a Lady” is a song that was written by the Canadian singer and songwriter Paul Anka. The song became a big hit when recorded by Tom Jones in 1971 and became his highest-charting single in the US. His version went to number one on the Cash Box chart and also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and Easy Listening charts.

“Thunderball” was the theme song to the 1965 James Bond movie of the same name. The music was written by John Barry. The lyrics were written by the legendary British lyricist Don Black. Tom Jones made a memorable recording.

“What’s New Pussycat?” was the theme song for the eponymous movies, written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. It was recorded by Tom Jones. The original single included a 13-second instrumental introduction, ending in the sound of shattering glass, but later issues omitted this introduction. This became his third UK Top 30 single.
