I woke to whispers, cold and low,
A chilling breath, a phantom glow.
The earth above had sealed its door,
And left me in the nevermore.
My steps were light, yet made no sound,
Through halls where restless souls were bound.
Their hollow eyes, their frozen cries,
Reached out to me in thin disguise.
The river called, a sirenās wail,
Its waters thick, its current pale.
A boatman stood with outstretched hand,
No words were said, yet I could stand.
Beyond the gates of iron gloom,
I felt the weight of silent doom.
The kings of dust, the queens of stone,
The gods who sat with hearts unknown.
āWhy am I here?ā I dared to ask,
A voice replied, a hollow raspā
āYou walked the path, you crossed the line,
Now mortal breath is left behind.ā
Yet still I ran, I fought, I prayed,
Against the fate that bid me stay.
A single light, a golden thread,
Led me back from where the dead had tread.
I gasped awake, the night was still,
Yet whispers clung, a haunting chill.
For though I breathed, though I returned,
Iād seen the place where shadows burned.Marked by Shadows
The stars above had lost their glow,
Their silver light now dim and low.
I touched my chest, my breath was tight,
As if I carried part of night.
The echoes still were in my ear,
Soft whispers only I could hear.
The scent of ash, the chill of stone,
Remained though I was not alone.
I walked among the living crowd,
Yet felt unseen, misplaced somehow.
Their laughter rang, their voices bright,
But I had danced in deathās cold light.
Reflections showed a strangerās face,
My eyes held something time erased.
A knowing glance, a haunted gaze,
A soul that walked through deathās embrace.
And when I slept, the dreams would call,
A distant voice beyond the wall.
The river sighed, the boatman grinned,
A part of me still trapped within.
So now I live, yet not the same,
A life half-held, a whispered name.
For those who leave and yet return,
Forever feel the shadows burn.Bound by the Underworld
Each day I wake, yet feel the weight,
Of shadows cast by a twisted fate.
The world around seems bright and clear,
But in my heart, the dark is near.
I hear the cries, the hollow screams,
Of lost souls trapped in endless dreams.
They call my name, their voices soft,
As if they beckon me back aloft.
Beneath the surface, deep and wide,
I know thereās nowhere I can hide.
The underworld, it calls to me,
A haunting pull, a silent plea.
And so I walk this life, unsure,
A soul divided, yet obscure.
The mortal world is not my home,
For in my chest, the darkness roams.
At times Iāll close my eyes and see,
The boatmanās face, the blackened sea.
I wonder if, one fateful day,
Iāll cross the line, and fade away.
Yet still I walk, I live, I fight,
Hoping the sun will end the night.
But deep inside, I know the truthā
The underworld has marked my youth.
For even when I leave this land,
The shadows whisper, hand in hand,
That once youāve walked where spirits tread,
You are forever bound to dread.Echoes of the Forgotten
The sun may rise, the moon may fall,
But I still hear that siren call.
It echoes in the hollow space,
A touch of death I canāt erase.
I try to laugh, I try to smile,
But the shadows linger for a while.
They trace my steps, they breathe my name,
And in my soul, they leave their claim.
The faces blur, the hands I hold,
Seem distant now, both young and old.
I search for peace, for something real,
But the underworld wonāt let me heal.
I feel their gaze, the ones below,
Their empty stares, their endless woe.
They tug at my mind, they seek to pull,
A part of me thatās never full.
Sometimes I wonder, in the dark,
If Iām still human, or a mark
Of those whoāve passed, who slipped away,
To linger in the shades of gray.
Yet I still walk this fragile life,
Amid the joy, the pain, the strife.
And in the quiet moments, still,
I feel the pull, the distant chill.
For once youāve glimpsed the world beneath,
You wear the silence like a wreath.
And though the living may forget,
The underworld wonāt let me rest.
