After Saving Him, I Became the Demon Lord’s Possession 9
Chapter 9: You Little Brat, I’m Gonna Curse Your Whole Family

The cold wind swirled with a suffocating deathly chill from below. Luna shivered uncontrollably.
Even colder than the wind was the boy in her arms. Only his torso retained warmth; his limbs were ice-cold.
Luna muttered in dissatisfaction, “Still better than your skeleton body. Holding you feels like hugging a stick.”
He was tall, with well-proportioned bones and long legs, but yes—far too thin.
She released Chi Su and stood upright, intending not to cling to him. But the sword offered little space, and she nearly tilted off again.
Flustered, she hugged him once more.
Chi Su raised a hand to brace against the stone wall, glancing at the arms she had locked onto him and the legs she was clutching tightly. He said softly,
“Why are you hugging me? Didn’t you just say it was uncomfortable?”
Luna felt like screaming. If he weren’t her mission target, she would’ve kicked him off in a heartbeat.
“You said you found it just now. Found what? What is this place? How come my cultivation is gone?” she rattled off questions.
“It’s only temporary.”
The boy’s voice came from above, rippling near her ear—they were far too close.
“When seeking a sword, cultivation must be temporarily sealed. Didn’t you know?”
Luna froze. “Wait, what? Seeking a sword?”
Chi Su lifted his chin. “Yes. Seeking a sword.”
What sword? And in the Ghost Realm, what sword could he possibly seek?
Of course… it had to be the Sword of Slaughter!
Looking at this little brat, calm and unruffled, Luna felt even stranger.
She patted him. “Chi Yinglian, are you doing this on purpose?”
The boy seemed to lower his head, his breath brushing over her head again.
He smiled. “You caught me. Didn’t I tell you I would seek the sword? Did you forget?”
Luna gritted her teeth. All her effort had gotten her nowhere—Chi Su hadn’t even looked back, and she’d ended up powerless. How could a mortal like her stop him now?
“Even seeking the sword requires going down first, right? Being stuck here… this isn’t good…”
“Can’t you foresee things? Did you foresee how we’d get down from here?” His voice carried barely contained excitement. “I even made us take a longer route, deliberately falling from here!”
Luna: “F-falling…?”
“You said I wouldn’t die, right?” The boy paused, sounding oddly innocent. “So… were you lying?”
“I wasn’t lying.”
Luna didn’t want to argue. She had to figure out a way down. Looking down, she saw endless darkness. The wind blew damp and cold, leading who-knows-where.
Chi Su uttered an “oh” and suddenly tilted, leaning to the side.
Luna grabbed him instantly, one hand clutching a stone crevice for support. Her heart raced. She shouted, “What are you doing?!”
Chi Su laughed. “If you weren’t lying, I wouldn’t die even if I jumped from here.”
Luna: “What?”
His laughter grew louder, as clear and distant as his voice.
Clinging to him, she could feel the vibrations of his chest.
“You said I’d live a long, long time. If I die now… you’re lying,” he said, hugging her waist and preparing to jump.
“Wait, wait, wait!” Luna clutched the wall with all her strength. “Little brat, talk it out first! Don’t go courting death!”
“Have you thought of a solution yet?”
He swung her waist, unconcerned by the teetering sword beneath them, even using it like a seesaw.
Luna was speechless. Was this human?
Would a sane person do something so dangerous?
Suppressing the urge to curse his entire family, she yelled, “How am I supposed to figure anything out if you’re moving around like that?!”
Chi Su responded with another “oh” and stayed silent.
Luna continued, “Sit tight. I’ll find a way to get us down!”
As they jostled, the Tianyu Sword loosened, more and more debris falling from the split stone.
Her heart jumped to her throat as she carefully adjusted, finally stabilizing the sword.
She thought she must be cursed. She hadn’t given Heaven any gifts before transmigrating, so why was she assigned such a sickly brat?
Still, complaining wouldn’t save her life.
Closing her eyes, she listened intently. She heard faint breathing, the steady thump of his heart, even his light laughter.
Luna rolled her eyes internally, ignoring every sound until she caught the faint sound of flowing water in the darkness.
“We’re in the Ghost Realm. How can there be water below?”
“It’s the River of the Dead.”
Chi Su spoke, tone tinged with anticipation. He pulled a luminous pearl from his sleeve.
The pearl glowed. He released it, and it fell.
As it dropped, the scenery rushed past. Before the pearl hit the water, she saw the river shimmering green.
Like a mechanism had been triggered, the river lit up, the banks glowing. Countless green lights, fragments of souls, rose like fireflies in the wind.
On the banks bloomed mesmerizing red spider lilies, stretching in vast fields, impossibly beautiful.
Before Luna could marvel too long, Chi Su’s calm voice echoed:
“No living creature survives the River of the Dead. Any living being entering turns to bone… and even the soul dissolves. Those green lights are fragments of countless souls. If we fall, not even a shred of us will remain.”
In the dark, Luna felt his cold fingers crawl up her spine like a snake flicking its tongue.
He traced the contours of her spine, sensing her fear and shiver, smiling in satisfaction.
Leaning close, he whispered, “This is the River of the Dead. Even the hardest bones dissolve—immortal bones, sword bones, all of it.”
Luna’s heart skipped; chills spread through her limbs. She sensed this little psycho was about to go nuts.
Sure enough, the next second he asked excitedly, “Do you dare to bet?”
“What?”
“Bet your foresight. Let’s see if we survive.”
Luna: ???
Brother… right now I have a very elegant Chinese phrase I’d like to send your whole family.
Without warning, Chi Su hugged her and tipped backward.
“Shit!! You little brat, I’m gonna curse your whole family!!!”
Luna clung to him, wind roaring past her ears. She grabbed his collar, wishing she could strangle this unlucky kid.
“Chi Su, even as a ghost, I will never forgive you!”
The boy let out a light laugh, limbs splayed, as if flying.
Luna’s heart was at its limit. She had no idea if he would die—but she definitely would!
It had been so long since she’d felt this weightless sensation. Memories of her own death in her past life flashed—stepping into nothingness, freefalling.
If she’d sinned, heaven would punish her, the law would catch her, readers would roast her—but not transmigrate her into this book to save this madman!
Luna yelled inwardly: “System! 200 Tomato Coins! Buy anything! Just save my life! Save me!!”
[System: Host’s coins insufficient. A Tomato Lucky Bag has been purchased instead.]
Luna: “What lucky bag?”
[Commonly called a lottery. Use it?]
She gritted her teeth. “Better than nothing. Use it.”
[Ding—Congratulations! Host has obtained fashion accessory: Blessing of the Jade Waist Servant. Limited edition!]
Wow… limited edition…
Luna despaired. Who the hell wanted this useless junk!
