Girl Thursday and Johnny-on-the-Spot
star-crossed lovers

I’m always early, and no one ever believes me. Hi, my name is Cassandra, Cassie to my friends, and that’s Johnny, with his trusty toolbox beside me. He gets the credit, I get the blame: Girl Thursday and Johnny-on-the-Spot.
It’s so frustrating, arriving on the scene, seeing what’s going to happen if something doesn’t change. No one ever listens, then they blame me, as if my knowledge is a catalyst when the lack of a catalyst is the whole problem. That’s where my Johnny comes in. Everyone loves Johnny, and he’s always been my catalyst. I’d hate him if I didn’t love him so much. I don't even care that he's so . . unrefined. It's okay for a man to be a little rough around the edges, as long as he keeps those edges away from anything delicate. Otherwise, I'll knock him upside his head with one of his wrenches.
That big wrench is what he used to save me the first time. No, I'm not a damsel in distress. I told you; I don't cause the trouble, I just always arrive right before everything comes to a head, but now I have this reputation as a troublemaker, so no one listens to me. And the trouble continues. And I know all about Murphy and his law; it's the only reason I don't give reverse psychology a try.

Brilliant stuff. You are so great at writing such rich and diverse, distinct characters
Clever and sharp. Love the modern Cassandra twist and the wry humor. Insight arriving too early as a curse is beautifully done.
