Being together with someone for eternity can take you on either a path to destruction or prosperity. It will make you a better person or worse off in life. It will make you or break you. It will teach you the importance of forgiveness. Be ready to live and learn. Forgiveness is a never ending thing in marriage. You can get pass it. Just be ever willing to go through it. It’s inevitable.
Having a spouse is supposed to be an extension of yourself. It’s supposed to elevate you and make you whole. You’re supposed to feel a sense of completion. When you’re in love, it feels good. When you have someone that you can sleep on the same bed with and under the same roof with, it’s apart of the marriage experience. It’s a routine you must adapt to, which is waking up everyday next to that very person. Misunderstandings come and go, but amends must be made. Reconciliation must take place, and togetherness must prevail. Don’t forget that. It’s paramount.
Self-love must be learned first before you can love someone else. You must learn to love yourself first. Don’t do what you haven’t mastered with yourself as an individual. Don’t forget that you will be tested, as in the person you’re with will upset you and get on your nerves. It’s inevitable. They will show you what you’re made of. Don’t take them too lightly. Facts!
Keeping love afloat isn’t the easiest thing to deal with. You can find yourself at times wishing you could just end it all. Sometimes you wish you could call it quits. No joke! That’s why I said it will show you what you’re made of. Don’t take them lightly. Keep that in mind. Hell has no fury like a woman scorned. It’s a saying one always hears, but what does it actually mean. Well, it means when a woman is bent on getting revenge or back at you for what you did to her, or better still when a woman wants to make you feel the pain you caused her, she will do everything and anything she possibly can to to make you suffer the consequences. She will teach you a lesson and you will never forget it.
I have been married for 7 years and still counting. My wife and I have been through a lot in our marriage. Everything from misunderstandings, arguments and silent treatments. We are still together after all this time. It hasn’t been easy at all, but we have endured and stood the test of time. We have had a lot of issues, but we remain. She has learned a great deal and I have learned a great deal. We expect that with God involved we can continue our long journey in marriage. God must be in the center of it all for it to be a success. Make no mistake about it. Without Him, everything will be in shambles. Without Him, our marriage will be in term oil.
