Scarlet
She smiled that wicked smile and laughed at the man juggling his guts screaming for help as he quickly bled to death. Her hair was long spread out on her shoulders, a dark blood red with a hint of black. She was tall, taller than most. She wore black skintight jeans that made her stick out in all the right places, and her jacket, an old 50's style tuxedo hoody with two tails, except new and vamped up to look gothic and sinister. Her beauty was unmatched. And her eyes were an emerald green, the kind one could get lost staring into.
The man was a nobody to her, just another person on someone's long list of people to kill. Probably just a loose end or something. She never got the fine details just a name, photo and address.
They were standing in the middle of the industrial area in Sydney harbour, it was quiet this time of night. Nobody around to witness, or hear screams, well the last sobs of the man who now lay almost dead in a puddle of his own blood, vomit and shit. She liked it better when they were screaming, made it less awkward for her, less personal.
Sobbing men reminded her of how they had killed her father, back when she was still human. Her name was jasmine back then, she was only six when the Russian mafia, ransacked and raided their home ,back when they lived in France. Her father told her to hide, and not to come out till he came for her. She didn't see what happened to her father, but she felt it, she heard it. The blood seeped through the mattress and showered her, turning her hear the colour blood red. She stayed where she was not crying, anger coursing through her very vanes. She felt a power she had never felt before. The Russian men all died that night, they were unable to escape the blaze caused by little jasmine, the fire engulfed the apartment block, like a gass bomb going off,the entire fourteen story building burnt to the ground. Jasmine died that night, according to official records anyway. She re emerged fifteen years after now as scarlet queen, known assassin for the snake eye clan, an anti mortal group within the magical community. She hated that word magic, it was bullshit, magic was pulling a rabbit from a hat, magic was something to create wonder. No she had power. What was a word worthy of what she felt, it made her think of control, destruction and death. But her power went beyond that, she had no limits. But she had self control, though nothing was beyond her.
The man finally breathed his last breath and was no more, Scarlet pulled out her phone dialled a number and called it. She waited, waited, waited. No answer. Odd! She turned and went to walk away when she saw a man staring right at her, hands in his pockets like everything was just casual. Scarlet froze and looked him dead in the eye, he knew who she was, and she him. His name as Salem mean, he was a cocky wanker, calls himself the head of the detective squadron at the world sanctum. he was always busting her proverbial balls. She didn't play by their rules she didn't fit in with their type, she was subculture, a bad guy so to speak and she knew it . But this time she had really pushed it, she had never really been caught in the act. She quickly glanced around to see if he had back up, though useless as back up could be called at the tap of a symbol and before she knew it that's exactly what Salem did.
With in seconds she was surrounded by teleporters guiding other mages through the rifts they leave behind. Scarlet looked at each face as she turned, she liked to take in the faces of all the people she was about to kill, she liked to feel the space between them and her, like to smell their scents, and feel their gaze. " you're surrounded I think is what I'm supposed to say now" said Salem, "I've been waiting for you to slip up, get sloppy".
"And now you think you have me" she returned, not even raising her voice or expressing the slightest bit of emotion.
" you have no place to go, no place to run" Salem said stepping forward, his arms out turning to look at his men. " you think you are smart Salem, but all you have done is doom yourself and all the men around you, you know, loose ends and all". Scarlet didn't even raise a finger, they didn't even know what had happened. Scarlet had wormed her way into each and every one of them, her power coursing through their bodies. They didn't even know it. Salem went to say something smart but scarlet didn't hear it, she was to busy ripping them apart at that moment.
Alyis inertia
He lay on the floor, he loved the feeling of energy the earth gave off, the magic, the power. It was all good. The grass in his back yard was long but that as all good to, in fact right at that point in time nothing could be better. He didnt have a job though so at that current point it wasn't all good. Alyis sighed to himself and said " cone time I think" and got up and went inside. It was plain to see that alyis was a bit of a hippy, he didn't have much in the ways of luck with work, as the sanctuary set had made it ileagal for the magic comunity to commune with the mortal society, not wanting to risk screwing with the order of things and all, man it bummed him out.
Alyis was what one would call a seer, he could see the future in all instances, unfortunately their are an unlimited about of possible futures so predicting the right one is almost impossible until right up to the last second. And even if you did sometimes it changes anyway. It's not what he wanted to do but he was on acid when his powers manifested, he waned to be an earth type, grow plants in seconds type thing.
Alyis had a son, his name was Steve, he was only a baby. His wife Amy was beautiful, but mortal. So he would eventual last her, tough she knew what he was. They had to live in hiding due to the anti mortal laws posted. He was in serious trouble if the sanctuaries got hold of him, and he would be dead if the snake eyes got him.
Alyis and his wife had a fight about money, they had moved to Australia to get away from it all, so he looked for a job, he found one suprinsingly fast at the docks for a midnight guard.
Alyis couldn't say that his first shift was the best. He first encounter a few boys that were graffitiing the shipping containers and felt bad about needing to chase them off, he thought it would be fun but alas they saw him and proceeded to rough him up and take his walled, smokes and phone. Fist night o the job and he gets mugged by a bunch of kids. No Alyis couldn't say that he liked this job very much he was thinking of quitting as soon as the shift was over. He decided to do a few laps of the loading docks area. He was in between a row of shipping containers when he heard a voice call his name.
Alyis turned to see who had called his name and the sword sliced right trough his lower abdomen quicker than he could react, not that he had a chance.
Father
Father entered in the rift that was permanently fixed to his office, only he could use it, and nobody knew where it went. Father was a six hundred year old Mage who live by himself. He liked to lie low, didn't want to gain the attention of the sanctums an all. It's not like he had a hidden age set or anything. He was just another person living on he edge. He worked at one of the new magical banks the supreme Mage had set up, he was a banker, he had money and respect, but he didn't have a wife, not that he needed such a thing. He was eating his lunch watching the news on tv, it was about a massacre in Sydney, horrible thing, the only guy they could find amongst he carnage of body parts didn't even have id. "Stupid Aussie" Father said and continued eating his sandwich. Father had seen it all, he wasn't to surprised. And to say the least, seeing everything happen over over again, was making him despise the world as we know it.
