Do you recall the legend of Warken? Deep in the mythology of Carthrendril. War and battles plagued the lands long before mankind ever came. The Icy wyvern known as Warken slaughtered millions who tried to take his treasure. The great Elven king, Truviois the merciful, cast Warken into a deep sleep, overtop all his gold and jewels. Over time, the wyverns scales began to petrify. The mighty beast turned into the mountain known as Mt. Warken. Legend states that the beast will return when the snow on the peak melts.

Lost
Before the storm, a girl wandered past the trails. Her beagle followed along beside her. She never bellowed anything above a whimper. The girls detour was ended as the rain began to pour. She was lost in the piney wood. She curled up under a tree and fell asleep, stroking the beagle . When dawn broke the rain was a drizzle. The girl was sick. The dog knew she had to help. She threw back her head and bayed. It wasn’t long until someone found the girl. The girl was returned home and the dog was forever her hero.

Tuesday
Stepping out of your townhome you’re hit by the cold first. You were expecting it. Laid out your heaviest coat the night before. But the way that first breath crystalizes in your lungs feels like a kick to the chest no matter how prepared you were. You pull your coat tighter and try not to slip on the thin skin of ice that glazed your street overnight.
