Things Non-Muslims should know about Muslims .
FACTS ABOUT MUSLIMS

**Hey there, Assalamu Alaykum and Hi! 🌸**
It’s Humayra here! ✨ So, I’ve been thinking... As much as Muslims are a huge part of society these days, it seems like many non-Muslims don’t really know much about us. It’s like we always find ourselves explaining why we do certain things or why we don’t do others. But you know what? I decided it’s time to clear some things up! 💁♀️
Maybe there are even a few things you haven’t heard before. So, let’s dive right in!
### 1. **Yes, We Believe in Jesus!** 😲
*Wait, what?* Yep, you heard that right! We believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) is one of the greatest prophets sent by God. We love and respect him! ❤️ In fact, Muslims believe in all the prophets—Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Joseph, and, of course, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). That’s a lot of amazing people, right?
### 2. **We Don’t Celebrate Christmas or Easter... But We Have Our Own Holidays!** 🎉
I know, I know... Christmas and Easter are big celebrations, but for Muslims, we have two other major holidays: **Eid al-Fitr** (after Ramadan) and **Eid al-Adha** (after the pilgrimage to Mecca). So don’t worry if we don’t exchange gifts during Christmas—we’ll have something special for you on Eid instead! 😉
### 3. **Islam is a Lifestyle** 🌙
Islam is not just something we practice during prayer. It’s a full-on lifestyle that guides us in everything! From how we eat to how we dress, how we sleep to how we use the restroom... It’s all part of living a life pleasing to God. 🌟
### 4. **No Pork or Alcohol** 🚫🥓🍷
Yup, you probably knew this one already! But did you know that not all beef is okay for us to eat? For meat to be halal (permissible), it has to be slaughtered in a specific way. Not every burger is acceptable! I’m not a vegetarian, but when I eat out, I often tell my friends that I am. It just makes life easier when you're not living in a Muslim-majority country. 🌱
### 5. **No Hugs or Handshakes with the Opposite Gender** 🙅♀️🤝
So, in Islam, there’s a certain level of modesty between men and women. This means no hugging or shaking hands with someone of the opposite gender. It can feel a bit awkward at first when meeting new people (I’ve been there 😅), but trust me, it’s all about respect. You can still be friends without hugging! 🤗
### 6. **Caring for Neighbors and Guests is SUPER Important** 🍽️🏡
In Islam, being kind to your neighbors and guests is a BIG deal. If you ever get invited to a Muslim’s house, expect warm hospitality and lots of food (or at least tea and snacks)! We believe that sharing with others brings blessings. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) even said: *"Whenever you prepare a soup, put plenty of water in it, and give some of it to your neighbors."* Isn’t that sweet? 🥰
### 7. **Washing Feet in Public Restrooms (It’s Not What You Think!)** 🚿
Okay, so here’s a funny one. Muslims pray five times a day, and before we pray, we need to perform **ablution** (wudu), which involves washing our face, hands, arms, and feet. So imagine you're in a public restroom... and there you are, washing your feet, when suddenly someone walks in. 👀 You can just feel the awkwardness, right? *Ehhh* 😂 But hey, cleanliness is a huge part of our faith—so no shame in the foot wash! “Cleanliness is half of faith,” says the Prophet (pbuh). 🙌
### 8. **Not Every Muslim is Arab, and Not Every Arab is Muslim!** 🌍
Wait, what? Yes, it’s true! Just because someone is Arab doesn’t mean they’re Muslim, and not all Muslims are Arab. People from all over the world—Asia, Africa, Europe—are Muslims. Fun fact: I’m not even Arab myself! 😄
### 9. **The True Meaning of "Allahu Akbar"** ✨
You’ve probably heard the phrase "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great) thrown around a lot, but what does it really mean? Well, it's a phrase we use in our daily prayers, when we're amazed by something beautiful, or even when we’re feeling scared or sad. It’s a reminder of God’s greatness in every moment. It’s not something scary or bad—it’s simply an expression of love and trust in God. 💖

So, there you have it! Nine things that every non-Muslim should know about Muslims. 🌟 But here’s the thing: No one is perfect. If you’ve got a Muslim friend who doesn’t do all of these things, that’s okay too! Everyone’s journey is different, and it’s up to each person how they practice their faith. 💫
If you ever feel the need to correct someone or help them, just remember to do it with love and respect. Always be kind, always be understanding. 😊
And finally, keep smiling, because... it's Sunnah! 😄✨
**Assalamu Alaykum and bye for now!** 👋🌸
