It’s a little later than usual, but here we are again — PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium time.

The mid-month refresh is rolling in, bringing a stack of new games into the catalog while quietly escorting a few others out the back door.

Everything goes live Tuesday, February 17, around midday local time. Let’s break down what’s coming in, what’s leaving, and what’s absolutely worth your time.

PS Plus Extra Highlights

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Finally Swings In

Yes, it finally happened. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has landed on PS Plus Extra.

The story continues directly after the previous two games, so if you’re rusty, a recap might help. From the jump, the biggest change is the seamless character swapping between Peter Parker and Miles Morales — no loading, no fuss, just instant switching.

Traversal is faster than ever thanks to improved web-swinging and the addition of web wings, which let you glide across the city at ridiculous speeds. Combat feels tighter too, with each Spider-Man bringing unique abilities and gadgets that keep fights fresh.

The narrative centers on the Venom symbiote, exploring its corrupting influence, while side stories dive into Miles juggling school and hero life, and Peter questioning whether a normal future with MJ is still possible.

With a 90/100 review average, an ~18-hour main story, and around 30 hours for the Platinum, this one’s an absolute must-play.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown (PS5)

Racing fans, your spotlight game this month is Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.

Set on a one-to-one recreation of Hong Kong Island, this open-world racer starts you off in a supercar to tease the speed — then promptly humbles you by sending you back to everyday vehicles. From there, it’s all about grinding events and working your way back up the automotive ladder.

Later updates even introduce a sunny island getaway for a change of scenery. While the scale is impressive, critics have described the racing as “fine,” which explains the 55/100 Metacritic score.

Expect about 50 hours to finish everything, and well over 100 hours if you’re chasing the Platinum.

Never — A Short Game That Hits Hard

Next up is Never, an emotional action-platformer where you play as Alba, bound to a mystical antlered wolf named Never.

In a hostile world full of shadow-corrupted enemies, you fight side-by-side while raising a fragile pup into a powerful companion. The game contains only one spoken word, yet somehow delivers a surprisingly heavy emotional punch.

If you played Gris, this feels like a natural evolution — exploring grief, loss, and healing while still empowering the player. Dog lovers: consider yourself warned.

With an 86/100 Metacritic, a 4-hour story, and roughly 7 hours for the Platinum, this is a short but unforgettable experience.

Monster Hunter Stories 1 & 2

Monster Hunter fans get a two-for-one deal this month with Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin landing on PS4.

These turn-based RPGs flip the usual Monster Hunter formula. Instead of hunting monsters, you raise and fight alongside them. Combat boils down to a rock-paper-scissors system where learning enemy patterns is key.

There are strong Pokémon-inspired elements, especially in the sequel’s party-building systems. Originally released on Nintendo handhelds, both games reviewed well, averaging around 8/10.

Each offers about 30 hours of story content, with roughly 100 hours needed for Platinum completion.

Echoes of the End – Enhanced Edition

Echoes of the End returns in an Enhanced Edition after developers admitted the original release didn’t quite hit the mark.

This fantasy action RPG follows a mission to stop an invasion while rescuing a kidnapped sibling. Combat leans toward “Souls-lite,” featuring dodges, melee combat, and magic abilities like stuns and gravitational pulls.

The enhanced version overhauls combat animations, introduces a new gear system, adds New Game+, includes eight new enemy types, and improves puzzle hints.

Expect a 12-hour campaign and around 25 hours for the Platinum.

Venba — More Than a Cooking Game

At first glance, Venba looks like a simple cooking game. In reality, it’s a cultural narrative about an Indian family moving to Canada in search of a better future.

Using your mother’s cookbook, you solve light puzzles while reconnecting with traditions left behind. The story can be completed in about an hour, with the Platinum taking roughly 3 hours — or faster if you’re efficient.

Short, heartfelt, and genuinely meaningful.

Rugby 25

Sports fans, Rugby 25 joins the lineup.

For newcomers: the goal is to ground the ball in the opponent’s area. You can’t throw the ball forward — only sideways or backward — so progress comes from running, kicking, and inevitably getting tackled by what feels like a charging refrigerator.

There’s a lot more nuance under the hood, and yes, South Africa usually wins. Platinum completion clocks in at around 30 hours.

Season: A Letter to the Future

Available on PS4 and PS5, Season: A Letter to the Future is a reflective journey where you ride a bike, explore the world, and document memories.

Why? Because an extinction-level cataclysm is coming, and memories won’t survive it. Your journal — filled with sketches, photos, and audio recordings — becomes a record of a world about to disappear.

The story lasts about 6 hours, with 12–15 hours for Platinum. Reviewers gave it a solid 76/100.

Ubisoft Surprise: 60 FPS Boosts on PS5

Ubisoft (yes, that Ubisoft) quietly delivered a solid win this month.

Three PS4 classics now run at 60fps on PS5:

  • Far Cry 3
  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
  • Far Cry Primal

Each game offers a distinct era — cavemen and bows in Primal, neon-soaked retro-future chaos in Blood Dragon, and modern-era gunplay in Far Cry 3. Ironically, the official trailers still run at 30fps.

Hollow Knight Gets a PS5 Update

With everyone talking about Silksong, many missed that Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition quietly received a PS5 update — nearly eight years after launch.

You play as an insectoid warrior exploring a fallen kingdom filled with brutal bosses and demanding platforming. An incredible 97% of players recommend it, but be warned: the Platinum requires about 65 hours.

Games Leaving PS Plus Extra

Sadly, seven titles are heading out on February 17:

WWE 2K25 (the final WWE 2K on PS4)

  • New World Aeternum
  • Cult of the Lamb
  • Rez Infinite
  • The Ascent
  • Saga Frontier Remastered
  • Super Neptunia RPG

Once they’re gone, they’re locked — so play them while you can.

PS Plus Premium Classic: WALL·E

Premium members also get WALL-E, the classic PS2 adventure.

You’ll clean up Earth’s trash, discover plant life, and team up with EVE on a galactic puzzle-platforming journey. This version includes four-player mini-games and races, and should look much sharper than the original emulated footage.
