Dr. Whitmore debuts on BTG

Cecelia Specht makes her Beyond the Gates debut on Friday, Feb. 13, as Dr. Lia Whitmore, the Chief of Staff at Garland Memorial. She is one of several new additions to the cast this week. Shante Parker debuted as Tatum Stewart on February 9, and Madison Alsobrook was onscreen on February 11, as Francesca.

BTG previews reveal that Dr. Whitmore is deceitful but runs a tight ship, and spoilers say she shows up with an attitude. The new COS is no-nonsense and has little time for romance, even though it's all around her at the nurses' station.

Dr.Whitmore will bring law and order to Garland Memorial. Employees will find things more intense as Lia cracks her whip in the hospital. Two of the first people she will cross paths with are Shanice and Ted, while they are flirting.

The new Chief of Staff will not be a fan of romance on the hospital floor and will emphasize more patient care and less fraternizing. Perhaps she might find someone to love and lose some of her coldness.

What iss known aboutCecelia Spech

Specht was born on February 28, 1967, in Santa Cruz. She got her start on the Australian soap opera Neighbors. Her next role was in the Disney Channel movie Stepsister from Planet Weird, where she portrayed Serena Soo, a kooky neighbor.

She has also appeared in Criminal Minds, Castle, Star Trek: Enterprise, Being Mary Jane, Parks and Recreation, Scandal, and Revenge.

She is a soap vet who is said to have had roles on Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless, although her characters and time onscreen are not available.

Her IMDb page reveals that among her many mentors were the iconic Lee Grant and Barbara Bain. Something that she is proud of is her costume from the Star Trek episode "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II."

The costume was specially made for Cecelia's 5' 7", 126lb, 36-27-37 frame, and took hours to fit. It was sold on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay for a hefty sum of money.

What is the new Chief of Staff up to?

Dr. Whitmore suspiciously arrives at the hospital as the ongoing blood plasma trafficking is being investigated. Jacob and Smitty are in the midst of trying to crack the case, and spoilers say this situation could prove to be volatile.

Will Dr. Whitmore be trying to get to the bottom of things and crack the case, or could she possibly be involved in the smuggling? It's being teased that she may be hiding a "web of deceit" that will eventually make its way to Fairmont Crest. Whatever Lia involved in will soon affect the entire Dupree family.

There are no details at this time about how Specht's deceitful character will affect the lives of Vernon, Anita, and the rest of the clan. It's possible this may have something to do with Anita's breast cancer storyline. Could she lie about Mrs. Dupree's progress, try an unproven cancer treatment, or attempt tp scam the family out of money?

Cecelia Specht has taped 20 episodes for her BTG storyline arc, which suggests she will be gone by the end of the summer. Who knows what mayhem she will cause while she is in town?

One thing Beyond the Gates viewers cans can count on is the unexpected, strange bedfellows and lots of drama. it sounds like Dr. Lia Whitmore will be one of the bad guys. Be sure you tune in to Friday's episode to see what unfolds at Garland Memorial with the new Chief of Staff.
