Ranking All of The New Threats on Who Should Return to The Challenge

Who Should Become the Next Face of the Show?

By Dylan DeckardPublished 2 months ago 5 min read

The 41st season of The Challenge just finished airing, and it was called "Vets and New Threats." We saw a bunch of "New Threats" really thrive on the show. Yeremi Hykel even became a Challenge Champion after his rookie season!

This will be a list ranking all "New Threats" based on who shouldn't come back to who should become a "mainstay."

16. America Lopez

Original Show - Big Brother 25

Placement on Vets and New Threats: 9th

America really didn't impress me on Vets and New Threats. To be honest, I didn't expect much because she's a strategic player and not an athlete. I think if she would have had to go into an elimination with Nia Moore earlier in the season, she would have lost. I wouldn't mind seeing her back on Big Brother or on The Traitors or Survivor, but The Challenge just is not for her.

15. Ben Davis

Original Show - Boxing Commentator

Placement on Vets and New Threats: 14th

I was really surprised by this casting decision, and it didn't pay off. I don't know why we are casting a commentator. I would have loved to see this spot go to someone from The Circle or Survivor.

14. Blue Kim

Original Show - Big Brother 25

Placement on Vets and New Threats: 17th

I was expecting more from Blue to be honest. She was okay entertainment wise but was obviously not the greatest competitor. I don't see MTV calling her again but wouldn't mind it if they did.

13. Leka Sodade

Original Show - Canada's Ultimate Challenge 2

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 14th

Leka looks like she would dominate on The Challenge, but she was just okay. I did think that CT screwed her over but what do I know. Canada has some fantastic reality stars like Ika Wong, Neda Kalantar, and Jamar Lee who would be great on The Challenge. I'm surprised we've only got Shaleen and Leka so far.

12. Tay Wilcoxson

Original Show - Big Brother Australia 15

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 12th

Tay won 2 eliminations and performed pretty well but I was expecting more strategically and socially. She won Big Brother Australia 15 and I was super excited for her on The Challenge but was waiting for more. I do think she would do very well on a Battle for a New Champion or Invasion of the Champions season.

11. Jake Cornish

Original Show - Love Island UK 7

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 7th

There is some amazing and interesting people on Love Island UK. We've seen Georgia Harrison and Theo Campbell, among others. Jake was okay but he never really stood out to me.

10. Izzy Fairthorne

Original Show - Too Hot To Handle 3

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 13th

I was excited for Izzy because she came from Too Hot To Handle, and the first 3 seasons of that show were amazing. She provided in the drama department but wasn't the best competitor. I'd love to see how she plays again, though, with more confidence.

9. Gabe Wai

Original Show - WWE

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 11th

Gabe was a surprise casting choice, especially since he has never been on WWE before but has been billed from WWE. He was messy, though, and competed well as he took out Johnny Bananas in an elimination. He got played by Theo Campbell and Olivia Kaiser, though, and it really showed how vets play vs. rookies.

8. Justin Hinsley

Original Show - Cheer

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 5th

Justin impressed me this season. I've never seen Cheer on Netflix, but anytime a show is on Netflix, people watch it. He won an elimination against Rogan O' Connor and got 5th place.

7. Dee Valladares

Original Show - Survivor 45

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 10th

Dee was the most impressive Survivor winner in the 40's seasons of Survivor. She absolutely dominated the game. That doesn't always translate to success on The Challenge, though. She won a couple of dailies, but I was expecting more from her. She will be on the 50th season of Survivor, titled Survivor: In the Hands of the Fans.

6. Leo Dionicio

Original Show - Love Island USA 5

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 8th

Leo is an example of why MTV needs to cast more people from Love Island USA. Olivia Kaiser and Johnny Middlebrooks were examples of great casting choices from Love Island USA. I would love to see Leo back.

5. Cedric Hodges

Original Show - Big Brother 26

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 3rd

I knew Cedric was going to be good on The Challenge. He played well in Big Brother but played too hard too quick and was taken out pre-jury. He's young, so I think he could become a staple on the show for years to come.

4. Adrienne Naylor

Adrienne / Photo by MTV

Original Show - Married at First Sight UK 8

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 4th

I was expecting Adrienne to be one of the first boots this season. Adrienne went on to win 4 eliminations and got 4th place in the final. She was held back by Theo Campbell on day 1 of the final, and she really struggled in day 2. I might have Adrienne too high, but I'd love to see her play again.

3. Yeremi Hykel

Yeremi / Photo by MTV

Original Show - The Amazing Race 35

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 1ST PLACE - CHAMP

Yeremi dominated this season. He came in as the biggest New Threat and dominated the final and won a Challenge Championship in his rookie season. He also wasn't afraid to make big moves like staking a claim to steal Olivia Kaiser as a partner.

2. Will Gagnon

Original Show - Are You The One? 9

Placement on Vets & New Threats - 6th

I saw Will on the cast and was thinking, why? I was wrong. I forgot that every cast member from Are You The One? is perfect for this show. Will has the potential to take over the franchise from Johnny Bananas. That's how high I am on him.

1. Sydney Segal

Original Show - Survivor 41

Placement on Vets & New Threats: 2nd

I know I was so high on Will but I'm even higher on Sydney. In my opinion this was the best rookie season we've had in a long time. It was better than Olivia and Horacio on Ride or Dies, and it was better than Amber on Double Agents and Turbo on War of the Worlds. I know Amber and Turbo won their rookie seasons, but Sydney could be the next female face of the show. She could hit 1,000,000 followers on Instagram. She has the "It Factor," and I just didn't see that on Survivor 41.
