You are finally dating, and it is someone whom you have always wanted to, for quite some time now. She was your childhood crush and now that has manifested into love. You are still in the early days of your relationship and you find out that she is a traveler, an explorer, a girl who wants to step out and see the world. She is an unusual kind. A very special rare kind who would like to be in the company of people who are not afraid to venture out. What must you do ?

Some find such women intimidating and there is a lot of talk lately about daring girls who are not afraid to travel. It is not my place to tell you what you must do. You might find her interesting but you might not want to settle down with her if you have a laid back life planned with nine to five jobs followed by sleeping late till noon on the weekends. She might want to do something like - going on a road trip, or hiking to the meadows, taking a swim down the river or lake, trekking through the mountains and the like. So, you see life might be very different and you might find each other’s personality very difficult. Hence read about the following things that I have to say about girls who love to travel.

She might want to go on Solo Trips and that might not have to do with you or your relationship at all - Travelling solo has its own fair share of perks. You don’t have to make conversation with other members of your travel. You don’t have to follow an itinerary. You can change your schedule, alter your plans, switch your accommodation. You may even choose to skip a meal. Or make that extra stop at that restaurant and grab that double cheese chicken bacon bagel sandwich along with your favourite double shot espresso. You can basically do whatever you want, however you want and that is one reason why some women might want to travel solo. Thus don’t sound alarmed when your girlfriend or partner- on one fine morning, suddenly says that she wishes to travel solo- because it shall have nothing to do with you or the relationship that you share with her but more to do with her personality and her desire to have all the liberties and the freedom to plan her own trip the way she wants.

She might not necessarily be intimidating - Rumour has it that women who branch out and have interests in travelling are considered to be - a badass. Well, that is absolutely untrue. Travelling is her passion and she just follows her heart. She might genuinely be a very sweet, kind, soft-spoken person and yet have the trepid desire to travel around the world and meet new people and have new stories to tell.

She might not necessarily want you to accompany her in her travels but she most definitely wants you to understand her world - The woman you are dating has either travelled extensively or is willing to travel more. She might not want expensive jeweler or grand gestures from you apart from understanding her world of the roads less taken.

It might not be very difficult to impress her if you know her well enough - A girl who likes to go backpacking and hitchhiking can be seemingly difficult to impress. Thinking of taking her to the newly launched seven star hotel for a three course meal? You might have to reconsider. Thinking of getting her uncut blood diamonds that she can flaunt in fancy parties ? Well, you might have to reconsider that as well for she might not be the kind who would socialize with such socialites. To impress a girl who explores, one might not necessarily do something out of the box, but simply get her utilitarian items that she might need during such travels such as travelling mug, tent, sneakers comfortable enough to go for a hike in, train and flight tickets, etc. It is advisable to sit down, talk with her, ask couple questions till you figure out what she precisely needs. This shall save you from not wasting your hard earned money in guessing the stuff that she might need.

She might have fewer friends but that should not mean she is lonely - If you have a partner who is a traveler, more often than not, you will see her standing in one corner at office parties, baby showers and other social gatherings- but that shouldn’t mean that she has zero friends. Nor should it imply that she is lonely. It is just that all her friends who she loves talking with her fellow travelers like herself and her probably out there swimming with the sharks or eating ripe mangoes straight from the trees in their trips.
