Rick and Isabel vs. The Billionaires (Part Two)
The conclusion of my first short film

A few weeks ago, I put together an AI‑created short film called Rick and Isabel vs. The Billionaires, with a promise of doing a part two.
The story is a dystopian tale with my quirky dark humor mixed in. It’s part kitsch and part political satire.
Rick and Isabel are fugitives on the run from an authoritarian government that wants to capture and kill them for not meeting the standards of the new regime.
In part two, we see several things happening—which I will not give away in this write‑up. However, Rick and Isabel are saved from the cruel new government, which is run by a group of billionaires.
The image of Dharrsheena Raja Segarran plays the part of an agent from Malaysia who saves Rick and Isabel. The story ends on a positive note with uplifting music and happy dancing.

If you haven’t watched part one, I would suggest watching that first in order to get the full story.

Just as in part one, part two features an EDM song as its closing theme. This one, titled “To Bend the Soul Forthcoming,” was written by prominent Vocal creator Lisa Lachapelle.

I have been asked if there will be a part three. This story has been resolved and will not continue. However, I am working on a new short called Rick and Isabel’s Dance Party. I’m not sure how I will go about this. I’m considering making it a quick‑moving slapstick music video with a small amount of dialog and no real plot. We’ll see what happens. I am having a ton of fun doing this.

So, how do I make these films? I gather together a series of still images (pictures). I remove the backgrounds from most of the images and keep the people with a transparent background.
Next, I write a basic script, which changes as I go along. I collect the music I want to use in the film and correspond with others who may be involved.
The next step: I click on my Grok app and open it. Grok is an app that animates still images. Each film requires between 50 to 80 six‑second animated stills. I write prompts for each six‑second animation in order to create a cohesive story.
Finally, I put it all together using Movavi Video Editor. I place each six‑second animation in order to produce the story. Some of the animations (most) need additional editing to avoid quiet or still spots. I add the music and special effects.

The final part of production is uploading the finished film to YouTube for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure).

Why do I do this? Before I delve into this I want to state that I am in no way a professional at any of this. I am just a entertainment seeking amateur creator. First and foremost, I do this because I have the patience, ability, and knowledge to create and complete such a project. But mostly, I do this because it is total fun and it keeps my mind occupied.
These days, with my 89‑year‑old mom, life is very tough. My social life is nil, and my friends no longer call me unless I call them first. It’s easy for me to let my mind dwell in self‑pity. But two things save me—prayer and my creative projects. I’m barely keeping my head above water—but the good thing is I am not sinking. I will survive this extremely demanding job of being the 24/7 caregiver of a seriously sick loved one. Dementia is a brutal illness, and I truly believe it’s harder on the caregiver than on the actual person living with the illness. Bottom line, my friends: I am learning and mastering the fine art of self‑care—I will be all right. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my zany short films.

♥️Rick, I could hear and appreciate your excitement as you set the stage for this conclusion. Seeing Dharr appear as the agent who saves the day was a brilliant cross-over. I also took your suggestion and listened to Lisa’s track. "To Bend the Soul Forthcoming" feels truly timeless, especially after the one-minute mark. It is the kind of song you search for when modern music feels empty. ♥️Your honesty about the uncertainty of your next project, the Dance Party, makes you so relatable. There is a beautiful harmony in the way you use your tools to bring the images in your mind to life.
Is there a secret Dharrsheena fan club? 😄 I want in 😄 This was super creative, Rick!
It is extremely hard on caregivers. Your imagination and creativity are unmatched! Keep the faith!
This is so great, I ❤️ what you do!! Intelligent humour cast with love to your mother, it's all warm fuzzies from here and entertaining! Thank you for me being part of this.
Reading about your process made me feel like I was right there in the studio with you. I love how you mix political satire, quirky humor, and music, and it’s heartening to see creativity shine even in difficult times.
I really enjoy how you explain your creative process. I can really feel the joy of creating in this!
Oooo, a dance party is next? I already loved the mushroom dance so much. So I know this is gonna be a fun one hehehehehe. Looking forward to it! Thank you again for having me Rick 🥰🥰🥰 I'm happy that doing these projects is helping you keep your head above water. Sending you and your mom lots of love and hugs ❤️
Vocal's horror queen to the rescue! A happy ending with the mushrooms.
So fab! Thx 4 sharing the behind the scenes process! 💕
🤩 Such a cool project, Rick. Reminds me of the shorts they used to compile on Liquid Television on MTV back in the early 90s. I absolutely loved the part when Isabelle got the mushrooms back. And thank you for breaking down the process. Me and a friend are thinking about creating a zany squirrel character and those two apps might be the way to go. Great work!!!
I'm glad the plot had a happy ending. It was fun that Dharr was teleported to rescue you and Isabel. Keeping your mind busy with these projects is a very good form of self-care.
Thank you so much ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️
I’ve watched both parts, Rick. This is such a cool project and I’m glad it helps you while you are taking care of your mother.
