MICRO-PATRIOTISM
The Place of the Family and Enterprise in the Prosperity of a Nation

Patriotism is deep love for and devotion to one's country; and can be seen in their great commitment towards the prosperity of their country and deep respect for their country's emblems.
While patriotism is widely a subject of discourse via various platforms, it hasn't yet gotten much bearing in the every-day life because of how unrelated it may seem to the common man who may not necessarily be faced daily with the responsibility to represent their nation in the international eye. Despite the ambiguity of this topic amongst the common folk, it is nevertheless, the most crucial value every citizen must inculcate in order to significantly contribute to the commonwealth of their citizenry. Why? Simple! If we have great love for our nation, it isn't just about the name or her emblems, it is grossly about her people. Therefore, this would promote tolerance and justice, thus, favouring a harmonious living together. On the other hand, if this matter is neglected, a nation and a people can only harvest unrest and injustice, accompanied by a struggling and broken economy.
Now, the most important question is this, “How can a nation promote patriotism amongst her people?”. This few suggestions would have a bearing that promises positive results:
1. Promoting cultural values
2. Investing in the propagation of the people's history
3. Creating a strong picture of the people's intended future
On this note, it is important for us to say a few things with regards to micro-patriotism. This term is coined and its intent is to discuss patriotism within smaller groups such as families and companies/organizations. In this regard, patriotism can be said to refer to one's deep love and devotion to that group. And thus is expected to uphold the values and promote the prosperity of that group. Therefore, the success of such a group is hinged on the collective knowledge and strong adherence to the vision of the said group.
As a matter of fact, the success of a nation is greatly hinged on the success of a family and the success of an economy is largely influenced by the individual successes of its enterprises.
