The Light Show

My favorite from the light show

Above is my favorite photo from The Enchanted Forest light show.

It had been a while since I had spent quality time with my parents.

Normally, it was a quick and boring dinner or a sad, dramatic and boring Netflix movie of their choosing, then back home soon after so the old timers could go to bed.

So when they invited me to a ‘light show in the garden,’ I jumped at the opportunity.

It was an hour drive to the garden, and the night was chilly, but I’m glad I went.

I felt serene as I wandered through the dazzling light show. I was mesmerized by the colorful displays they had set up all over the gardens. Amidst the captivating spectacle, there was one sight that stole the show.

In a quiet corner, I noticed a giant orb of soft, luminescent light hovering just above the surface of a still, dark pool. Its radiance cast a surreal glow on the water, as if the moon itself had descended from the sky to rest upon the earth.

I couldn’t help but reach for my camera. I took a few shots, and my parents were equally impressed.

As the three of us stood there, captivated by the great sight, a cold breeze hit us.

For a brief moment, it felt like the world had paused. We took advantage of the moment to simply enjoy the lights and appreciate the fact that we were all together.

It was rare we all enjoyed something together, but here we were.

The feeling of connection was wonderful as we shared our magical experience together.

We continued to explore the rest of the light show.

The memory of that shimmering orb remained vivid in our minds, and I am so glad we went.

Throughout the evening, my parents and I found ourselves marveling at the incredible creativity of the artists who had brought these installations to life as we continued through the gardens and saw all the other lights. The imagery they created was wonderful, like walking through a dreamscape of rainbows and color.

As the night unfolded, it became evident that this light show had accomplished more than just showcasing the talents of its creators, it had brought my family closer together. The walls of everyday routine and the mundane rut of the world had melted away, the monotony of our regular visits was a thing of the past.

The chilly night seemed to lose its bite as we continued to immerse ourselves in the enchanting world of light and color. They even called the event ‘The Enchanted Garden.’

Each new display we encountered was a work of art that brought us joy and pleasure, emotions that are very rare for us and very much appreciated.

Time is fleeting and the few opportunities we all have to create cherished memories with our loved ones should never be taken for granted. We should spend as much time as possible with the ones we care about while we can.

There was an announcement that the park would be closing soon. Regardless, we found ourselves reluctant to leave the feelings of warmth and magic of the garden behind. It was such a beautiful place. We are greatly looking forward to next years show.

As we strolled along the winding paths of the garden on our way out, the vibrant colors had continued to amaze us, the assortment of artwork illuminating the smiles on our faces. My parents' laughter and amplified happiness making me happy.

After leaving, we had enjoyed dinner and discussing the variety of the artwork and all the incredible lights we’d seen.

After we finished eating and headed back home, our conversation revolved around the beauty we had witnessed and how fortunate we were to have shared that experience together. We agreed that the 'light show in the garden,' or ‘The Enchanted Forest’ as they called it, had been a truly unforgettable experience, one that had deepened our bond and created a cherished memory that we would hold on to forever.

These are amazing and stunningly beautiful pictures. I can only imagine the real thing. I love the way you equated the beauty of the enchanted forest and lights with a rejuvenation of yours and your parent's world colliding to enjoy the night. Indeed, such things must not be taken lightly for they are what gives life to cherished memories.
