A Curse, Lifted
A Poem about Survival
For so long
There has been a light
At the end of the tunnel
Just out of reach
-
But now,
The tunnel is ending
The light is approaching
It’s here
-
Soft white light
So warm, so bright, so beautiful
Shines down upon me and
My upturned face
-
Is this
How happiness feels?
I hardly remember
Before
-
But I think
This is what it felt like,
Weightless yet fuzzy,
And I could weep
-
With joy
The road has been long
Dark and cold and twisted
And now
-
I can breathe a sigh of relief
Let the song of my heart take over
And write my name in the stars
Because I survived.
About the Creator
Maia Gadwall the metAlchemist
I fell in love with speculative fiction and poetry many years ago, but I have precious little time to write any. Then, I went crazy and started a cult called metAlchemy, or meta alchemy. I revere energy of all brands, esp. good, kind chaos.
