A Darker Shade Of Black

My thirty-ninth dark poem in the series inspired by Dharrsheena

By Mike Singleton πŸ’œ Mikeydred Published 3 years ago β€’ 1 min read

This is my thirty-ninth dark poem in the series inspired by Dharrsheena.

I was going to write about how in this last years abusers have taken from me and hurt me, but then thought, sod them I will not give them any credit.

They say if you want someone to remember you wound them badly and that has happened to me, but I will move forward.

This is a sort of take on the premise that when things can't get any worse, they will.

The music I have chosen is "Blacker Than Black" by Goodbye Mr McKenzie'

Goodness this was as relatable as it was dark. A lot of truth in this one. Nicely penned, my friend :)

  • I loved the line your life's a flicker. And your last stanza is like super true. Once we're dead, they move on to their next victim

Truth Mike. Absolute truth. Thank you for putting into poetry. πŸ₯°

I'm not a poet and don't often read it. But I have heard it is quite cathartic. Well done.

  • This was so good, it made me want to embrace the dark side. LOL! All kidding aside, this is an awesome piece!

Well done, Mike. Those last two lines say it all.
