You want a story of hope?

Of innovation?

Are you tone deaf to what’s happening in this nation

Are you completely unaware of the situation?

Twenty-six years ago we were all minding our own business

Terrorism and war a distant thought

But how quickly we’ve forgot

Life teetering on a knife's edge

Liars all

Going back on their pledge

Putting our oath to the test

Time to rest

Before you have to dawn your vest

Fear gripping the aware

While the zombies stare into the light

Moths drawn to a flame

Always looking for someone to blame for their woes

Filled with despair

Hoping for a better tomorrow
