A Love both Beautiful and Bruising

A confusing game, that's hard to see

Complicated relationships, like tangled vines

Twisted and knotted, a constant grind

Love and hate, a delicate line

Heartache and pain, always in kind

Feeling trapped, yet also free

Wanting to leave, but also to stay

A confusing game, that's hard to see

A constant push and pull, every day

Jealousy and trust, at constant odds

Fears and insecurities, forever gnaw

The past haunts, and future bodes

The present is lost, in emotional awe

But despite all this, the heart still beats

Holding on to hope, and the possibility

That love may yet conquer, all defeats

And in this complicated relationship, find unity

But at the end of the day

The status remians

"It's complicated"
