
That day, after breakfast
I sat at the table.
I did not move,
no distractions,
but played with colors,
skillfully gliding the brushes,
for a solid two hours.
Out of nothing
I made aesthetic flowers,
pretty camellias,
petals with light and shade.
I don’t do meditation,
can’t, mind wanders,
it feels fake, wastage of time.
But what I did
when making the arts,
was immersive,
mindfulness, trance state
meditation only.
Art is the meditation
that works for me,
decluttering mind,
purifying soul,
making me feel good,
bringing peace.
Blessed to have
appreciation for art.
