Authenticity VS. AI II
humans, we still have a problem
They say
it’s beautiful.
They say
it’s flawless.
They say
it made them feel
something.
*
But I’ve seen
that shape
before.
*
I’ve seen it
born
without breath.
Lines sculpted
with
surgical grace,
no bruise,
no tremor,
no soul.
*
It’s
always
so
perfect.
*
And that's
the
problem.
*
Too
perfect.
*
No pause,
no panic,
no cracked seams
where a person
tried
and failed
and tried again.
Like
me.
Like
you.
*
Just output.
Just imitation
masquerading as a
human.
*
We taught
the machine
how to echo
ache.
We did.
Truly, it
may just
be
our own
fault.
*
Because,
now, we cheer
for reflections
because we forgot
how to
recognize
the face.
We crave
effortless
wonder.
Speed.
Shine.
*
First,
it was videos.
Then,
it was fiction.
Now,
it is poetry
that's become a
victim
to AI creation.
*
And somewhere,
in the distance,
amongst the silence,
someone who
feels too much
will put down their pen.
Not because
they have
nothing to say,
but because the page
learned how to
write without them.
*
We don’t
need more
cleverness.
We need
the strange lines
that almost don’t work
but stays
because it means
something.
*
We need
the mistakes
that make the
truth
undeniable.
*
We need
the hands that
shake
while they tell
the story
only they can tell.
*
If it costs you
nothing,
it gives us
nothing.
*
Don’t give me
a story that
works.
Give me
a story that
hurts.
*
That’s
the
difference.
*
And
it
still
matters.
Here's part one from about a month ago!
And here's who inspired me to make a continuation!

Absolutely beautiful and so true!
The technology is not the problem. The problem is who misuses the technology.
Yes! 👏 I particularly liked this line - “If it costs you nothing, it gives us nothing.”
Your poem resonates with conviction in all the right ways. Congrats on top story!
Back to say congratulations on your Top Story! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
Wow…. Absolutely stunning!
Such good capturing of the sentiments I feel ... deeply.
the page learned how to write without them.... fearfully true--- I was trained to be efficient like a machine and still like to keep the gears oiled.. but to dare to be oneself and human takes courage and strength.. congrats on top story
Wow, thank you! 😄 It truly makes my heart full knowing that your poem inspired me. There's something so raw and beautiful in those moments when words come alive, and I’m glad I could capture that pulse you mentioned. It feels like we’re in sync with the flow of creativity! And Top Story?! That’s such an incredible honor—thank you for celebrating that with me! I’m so excited to continue sharing these stories with you. 🙏✨
Luna YES!!! Like a thousand times YES! The way you expressed this is quintessential "ALL" on the subject. Need it even be said again... Damn, I HATE AI. Cuz at the end of the day, it was PEOPLE who created it...thought maybe they were being helpful...doing a public service. This road has been traveled down soooooo many times! *"But I'm helping by making things better."* Grrrrrr. How can a relatively small group of "professionals" make a decision that affects the entire planet without giving the over 8 billion global population access to the research information/statistics/impact assessments/ etc., etc., beforehand, and also having the ultimate and final power of veto? You know what I'd have told them to do with their AI? And not just once... Great poem Luna, and so glad it was featured as a top story!
I love the shape, feel, rhythm and rawness of this, Luna!! So spitefully/ artfully articulated!!!
AI,Not perfect
It makes me happy my poem inspired you. Your words tremble with a human pulse. Congratulations on winning Top Story!
So true! I don't want a story that works. I want something that hurts. Nowadays, I'm so happy when I spot a typo or grammar error in someone's writing because that confirms it wasn't written by AI. Or unless they told AI to make some typos. Shit, I'm so paranoid
