Battles

Battles

By Barbara FaloPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Piercing through a steel armored vest

With a two-edge sword right through the chest

Gushing of blood, spilling throughout the skin

Battling on the fields, roman soldier, he must win

To be defeated, was a thought he could not endure

For the enemy, stood still, devoured and lure

Constant clashing of swords battle for each’s end

Not allowing a chance to bow or even bend

Surprising to the soldier that stood still

He could not see the enemy, battling from up a hill

In his glorious rise, sword gallantly lashed out

Simply neglected, the enemy’s tactic to come about

He has struck his sword, as he stands and defend

Mass number of enemies, lives come to an end

Quickly noticing the screen of his mask

Was sliced on one side, should he dare ask

There was pool of blood, seeping through the ground

Warriors slicing, stabbing and brutal tactics abound

Nevertheless, they are to conquer with great defeat

Taking no prisoner and having them beg at their feet

Warriors they are, live by honor, rise like a Lord

Arise to defend, keeping on side the two-edge sword

Against the body as they slay their enemy down

For they fight to stand tall, and never hit the ground

Gush, gush the blood runs deep

The last man standing, is not the one to weep

For he has accomplished his mission, made the kill

Although it was tough, battling up on a hill

Many lives taken, for history to repeat itself

No longer swords, but by a button on a shelf

Nuclear, and viruses are born, to bring death

It is quite clear, it literally takes one breath

War of warriors and swords are of the past

Government, mass destruction has governed by blast

Future of the world, question? Why death to each

Love, kindness and peace, is what they should teach.
