Better Days

Even When I lose, I win, never giving in,

tired of setting myself on fire to keep the leaches warm, the bloodsuckers never getting in, always taking, never satisfied, wanting & begging for more,

but never giving in,

days go & come, but they all feel the same,

no matter how dedicated you may be, you have to take time to visualize better days,

the vision needs clarity, regardless if you're barely feeding your family, barely getting to & from work, dealing with disgruntled people,

being treated like dogs, just trying to mark our territory,

a lot of people don't want to hear these stories, consistent unpleasant truths,

for a kid, we pick objects to be a figure of hope,

some of us with parents on dope, fought in the war, now my people can't cope,

where's the support, canceling your debit for hate, change your deposit,

deposit your love in the world, your mindset will grow in time, let your walk step in strength, most of all have faith,

let's stop talking about Better days, let's create them, it's not about head of state,

its about the betterment of the people,

we don't need all the crazy materials, just better lives, better compensation,

a lot of men will say the need for better women, their mindsets still the same,

being it was your choice, you should of chose wisely, she's here to stay,

fuck those comforting lies they tell us, I just want to see better days,

not just for me, for everyone, better days
