Biological Clock

Let me tell you a story of science and sexism,

how womb bearers are shamed by a society

supported by patriarchal-steeped science,

brewing tall tales and bitter limitations

meant to force parenthood as the

antidote to our independence.

Let's write a new narrative where the pursuit

of happiness includes our bodily autonomy

and the seeds of nature aren't cultivated

as thorns and thistles twisting towers

to guard hollow halls of insecurity

and fear of being abdicated.
