I didn’t finish the book today,
but I went along anyway.
I put on those jeans,
they were a little snug.
I gave my boy a great big hug.
Toss mum guilt aside,
walk out the door.
This time’s for me,
I don’t need it anymore.
A nice pub meal
and a glass of white
will be an absolute delight.
Add some adult conversation,
and it almost feels like I’m on vacation.
One sip.
Two sips.
Three gulps,
more.
Feeling my stress
melt to the floor.
Books are always kick ass,
when you’ve got wine in your glass.

Ha ha, love the way that wine improved the books. If I went to a book club I would read the front cover, the blurb, chapter one, and the ending. The rest would undoubtedly be provided by the wine

Not under pressure to complete a book. I like how the drink went from sips to gulps. You're giving me ideas. Although I can't be trusted with alcohol, it would be nice to have wine again. Especially with a book like you've done. The guilt will be there but at least the little one knows you love him with that great big hug. Lovely to know that you enjoyed the book club mama! 🤗❤️

Haha I love your rhymes! I'm glad you got yourself a little time off and went on a micro-vacation. It's so easy to forget about filling our own cup (or wine glass?) when there's so many cups we need to fill for others.
