Burn It Down

Don't know how I'll ever break this curse

By Luna JordanPublished 11 months ago Updated 5 months ago 1 min read
Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Rachel,

All I’ve ever wanted was your friendship and love,

Cause you were the best thing that happened to me since my dad died.

Hell must’ve froze over because you’re no longer here by my side.

Everyone is wondering where exactly you are.

Lust for a new beginning is where their thoughts linger most.

*

Abandon me for this adventure, I know you’d never do.

Malice enters my heart sometimes, because I fear it may be true.

Burning down the forest was the wildest thing you’d do.

Embers seen across the skies, ashes falling through the night.

Remembering this, I wonder if you really did leave me behind.

*

Accepting your absence is too much for me to bare.

Nobody else seems to care that you’re not here.

Don’t forget about me, if you’re off in California without me.

*

Can’t stop thinking that something worse has happened.

How am I supposed to find you when no one else will help me?

Lonely here without you.

Only you can make me feel complete again.

Everything sucks more, now that I don’t have you to ease my pain.

*

Please,

Return to me.

I’m nothing without you here by my side.

Chloe is hollow without Rachel following behind.

Emptiness will continue to consume me until I find you again.

I don't know who Rachel and Chloe are but your poem made me so emotional. Also, I wouldn't have known this was an Acrostic if you hadn't folded the first letters and added the Acrostic tag. You always manage to nail it with a smooth flow!

What a great idea for an acrostic poem. I am going to try this for two dogs that are no longer around. Good job.
