Shadows shy, day ascends,

Hope wanes, doubt condemns.

Laughter fades, replaced by sighs,

Tears welling, dreams denied.

In dawn's reproach, light resides,

Hope rekindled, doubt subsides.

Laughter's echo stirs a smile,

Tears transform, dreams worthwhile.
