Coming home as afternoon time is here!

The cabinets are empty as I feared.

After search high then low.

I am finding nothing there to see.

Disappointment is on my mind, but nothing new, you see.

As it is something, I know all to well.

I slide into the chair by the table with a frown.

Only to look down at the table top, there do I find.

A strip of gold made into a paper crown encircling a jar.

A lid of white with a note from mother attached.

She wrote, I know it isn't much but it's best, I can do and of it's all for you.

Fast food cracker were there and a knife layed next to the stack.

So tonight I will eat well and all will be swell.

So sweet that you got the snack you wanted. I was also lured into reading this poem by that picture. Haha. Good poem!
