Choose Friends Wisely

For you tend to be like them

We all want acceptance.

So, when warmth comes,

we soften,

and lean toward that person.

But it is not always right,

for not all cups are nourishing,

some are filled with poison.

I once read this:

If you spend time,

with five alcoholics,

you become the sixth.

If you spend time,

with five womanizers,

you become the sixth.

If you spend time,

with five writers,

you become the sixth.

You get the idea.

We are creatures

of our environment.

Yes, the human body evolved,

in the prevailing environment,

But I am speaking here,

of the mutagenic mind.

So be wise.

Social you are,

connection you want,

but choose your circles carefully.

You do not want to be dragged

down a path of destruction.

What a great Public Service Announcement. A long time ago on Saturday mornings there used to be little segments known as 'More you want to know' I think that was what it was called with various very short lessons we all should know, learn and repeat.

Very wise words, Seema. Many do not realize the truth of them, either.
