The Unnecessary Line Poem

Dance in the reflection of the crystal mirror

inside a bright and shimmery room,

spin across the floor,

across the rainbows that are pirouetting with you

Snow falls outside in large wet grape-like drops, not stars of snow

Your bare feet move to the beat, your face is lit by rainbows

created by the blazing sun at the window pane where

faceted crystals hang in different lengths, slightly swaying

from your dancing feet, and breathy laughs,

the obsidian accordian skirt twirling roundly at your knees,

your scarlet sweater clings to your breast

His fingertips touch yours as you spin away, then you twirl back

the sun is setting, the sky darkening, and

shadows replace your dancing rainbows

The music stops, but your toes tap the beat while

his fingers snap to a rhythm, and his hips follow

I love this! I could feel and see the movement, and it reminded me of this dancing couple salt and pepper shaker someone had when I was growing up. In this line "but then you twirl back," my mouth wants to omit "but," somehow it feels tighter to me without it. Fantastic poem!
