Demons

…..but I was before.

Before I became soulless.

The survival instinct humans are born with

Is us holding on to our Animalistic roots.

But if you experience enough unnatural,

purely anthropomorphized & rootless & worthless shells of the soulless,

you’re welcome to join them.

Am I dead?

Is this physical uncomfortability my soul trying to pull up roots?

At what point does my survival instinct break?

If our two halves peel apart, was it choice?

Would we still have a heart?

How can I experience compassion

while wearing a halo for others’ transgressions,

In the midst of the ultimate living separation?

This must be why emotion manifests as bodily pain.

It’s the ripping of our soul from our brain, from our evil side, from our shell.

This must be how demons are born and how we enter hell.

The rain, leaves, moon, children, dancing, music, that bodily pain

All go away

when you become a slave to your age

and let your ego take over your stage.

A demon can only manifest recognition for its own existence.

We are born good, not tabula rasa.

But when you lose hold of your soul, or choose to let it go,

the demon is exposed

and your human experience is closed.
