It’s exhausting to keep cover
On the thoughts inside your head
To hold your lips together
When you’re racist, born and bred
You see that we look different
And view things with different eyes
When you’re focused on your anger
Instead of being wise
Compassion is a healer
A balm to ease your hate
And help you to learn tolerance
Before it is too late
So try to practice kindness
In all you say and do
When you are with your neighbor
Be they black or brown or blue
Don’t focus on our colors
Discrimination can be cruel
But look to find some common ground
And don’t be such a fool
