Faithful Witness
another moon poem

Reusing this portrait as a cover photo, because it is in grey and white - moon colors!
Dear Moon,
You call many a wave forward,
to be the sea's breath upon cove shores;
You chase many prey toward
their haven-hollows, within midnight moors;
You light many a way onward,
reflecting a far fiery glow that is not yours;
You guide many a gaze upward
At waning glow, away from screens and floors.
Dear Moon,
Are you calling us homeward
too?

Hey, My elder sister used to read them to me, and as I grew up, my love for stories only got stronger. I started with books, and now I enjoy reading on different writing platforms. Today, I came here just to read some stories, and that’s when I found your writing. From the very first lines, it caught my attention the more I read, the more I fell in love with your words. So I just had to appreciate you for this beautiful work. I’m really excited to hear your reply!
This is so beautifully written, the rhythm feels like waves, rising and falling with each line.
Love the gentle pull of this one! So peaceful and oh, so relatable. Makes me want to look up tonight and see what it’s guiding me toward. ✨
I feel like such sweetness and longing in these lines, well done
Those opening lines about calling sea's breath are just brilliant, Gabriel.
Questioning what we’re being called from and what toward is my favorite part, impactful love it
