Fallen for a Stranger

fictional story poem by Mel

By 'Lissa StufflestreetPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

There he stood

on the other side of the bar.

He had been conversing with his colleagues,

talking about their successes for the night,

discussing who had the best record for the night;

they seemed to be enjoying every second

of this.

Every second.

There he stood

on the other side of the bar.

I couldn't take my eyes

off of him.

My focus only stuck to his;

the way his shirt was half tucked in his pants,

the way his hair had been gelled in an

upward motion,

pointing up towards the sky,

the way he laughed as his friends

bragged on and on about whatever success

they had.

There he stood

on the other side of the bar.

His gaze caught onto mine.

He slowly began walking towards me.

My throat felt dry,

almost as if I forgot how to breathe.

There he stood

right in front of me.

Let's see where this takes us.
