Market Place on Facebook

Market Place
You could mean a local famers market, or a flea market, or you could mean Facebook Market Place. Take your pick.
I Would Like To Address Facebook Market Place
I had never used it before, but I was cleaning out things, and I thought I would give it a try.
I would give them a 2 out of 10 rating, and here is why.
They are full of "DEALERS" looking for someone that does not know the value of things, so they can take advantage of them.
For Instance- These Glass Slippers
I had been collecting them for 50 years. I did not know the value of them. Until- I put them on market place.
When I put them on market place, I did not know the value of them, until I had an overwhelming response. Then, I googled it, and found what they were worth. I quickly took the listing down.
It's the same thing if you have silver coins, and I am grateful that this dealer sold them back to me. There was a gentlemen and I use that word loosely, told me that he was buying them for his son, but he was in fact, a dealer on market place. He admitted to me that he was a dealer in uranium glass. I have to at this point, tell people not all uranium glassware is "Green".
The defense that the dealers used, is "if you found an item at a yard sale, that is marked $2.00 and you knew it was worth $100, would you bring it to that person's attention.
Well that is between you and your conscience, and I suppose all people would handle it differently.
Would YOU tell the person selling, "Do you know how much this is really worth?" Or would you buy it for $2.00 and rip that person off and profit from their lack of knowledge.
Like I said, that is between you and your conscience. What would I do?
I personally, have an over active conscience, and I believe that a greater power is always watching, so I would have told the person, "Do you know how much that is really worth?"
This over active conscience has served me well over the years, and I will leave it at that.
The question remains, "Are there people like me still in existence?" Or when the Lord made me did he break the mold.
You have to be the judge of that.
Warning To All
If you are going to sell things on market place, do your research first, and see what the items are worth.
I Personally Am Done With Market Place On Facebook
I will personally leave my little treasures, including these glass slippers, to my Granddaughter, who after I am gone, she can figure out what the things are worth. I will leave the sliver quarters to her also, which she can find hanging on the wall, in a picture frame.
I am grateful that the dealer on Marketplace sold them back to me, and I sincerely appreciate that.
God Bless Granddaughters and Grandsons

Interesting. Thank you for sharing your experience, Susan. I'll be cautious if I decide to sell something there.
