Gathering Passion Fruits

A forager's delight

Not far from home

there is a passion fruit vine,

its fruits ripening, ready to pick.

But below it, dense thicket,

of rosemary and grass,

rattlesnake country,

so, I am disappointed.

Yesterday, while walking nearby,

I saw the bramble had been cleared,

ripe purple fruits lay on the ground,

you can imagine the happiness

of my forager heart!

@Seema

I gathered as much as I could

and brought them home,

my kids were ecstatic,

a tropical-sweet, tart juice

is due today.

Plant knowledge, and mindfulness

never let me down,

and enrich me so often.

Note: Have you tried passion fruit juice?
