Healing the Heart (Part 1)

Poem Collection

By Amelia MapstonePublished about a year ago 1 min read

Present

Could it be that giving up my future

with you was a worthy sacrifice to God?

It must be... for in Eternity

rests Now, and our 'Now'

will turn in me forever.

~

Harmony

God brought me to you so I could see the truth:

that the men I love are not “above” me;

but at eye-level.

Through you, God revealed my strengths

made me weak and my flaws are strong.

But I’m not inferior to you; I’m complementary.

We are blue and pink kissing the horizon.

~

The Heart

The heart is a fickle drum.

One moment she sings a lullaby;

the next she breaks glass. Her cage caves in

so the chest sheds treasures.

An empty heart echoes the most,

resonates from skin to bone to soul.

The heart does more than thrum;

she beats two into one.

~

Fallen Angels

We all know what it’s like to lose our wings.

Such wounds keep us from reaching Higher Things.

But if I had a penny for every time you fell

trying to lift me up, I’d build a well

to send our demons into hell.

Few can know what it’s like to ascend.

But I believe, at least, we can make amends;

not by wishing for that which we toss,

but by worshiping He who gives loss.

Let the rest become moss.

~

Us

If it's just friendship, let it be a Just Friendship.

Amen.
