I Am No More

Numb

By Mercedes ChavezPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Let it kick in

Let it silence the thoughts in my mind

The fog rolls into my mind and no thought can be heard

Nothing to be felt

My body? Exhausted from the pain

I try to smile through it

And you all fall for it

But most days I can't even breathe

There is no hunger

No craving for anything

Except to be utterly numb to the core

Sleep evades me

Everything is flavorless

So, I wait for the feeling to sink in

The fog rolls in and I am no longer here

I no longer exist

Tears no longer fall from my eyes

I am no longer here.
