Vision Board Poems: Abundance

My arms feel the weight of the basket in my hand, brimming with summer red apples.

I see their skin, rouge and round, each one containing an abundance of flavor and life.

Scents of love, labor, and fertility waft off the orchard trees around me.

Laughter and the sound of family encompasses me: the delighted giggle of a child on her father's shoulders, the bustle of bodies moving in nature, the distant buzz of a bee.

I bite into an apple from my basket and another tumbles into the spot it once was...in the sweet juice of its offering, I am reminded that everything I could possibly desire, I already have right here in this moment with me.

I have had many memories made in apple orchards. From plucking and eating apples with my siblings, to drinking hot apple cider on windy, blistery, days, to seeing the cute animals such as baby chicks and even petting kid goats and baby calves, so many memories, and yet the time feels not so long ago. I think that's why I liked to start growing fruit trees, apples being one of them. They'll show and share part of my time that I have here on this Earth while I'm still alive. It's like a gift to myself and my loved ones in the future.

I love the way this has been written. It reminds me to remember that abundance in the sense of appreciating what we have, rather than what we don't have is important.
