Just Give Me Time...

I'm painted in colors only I can see
I'm painted into corners where I don't want to be
--
Why can't I just be grey and blue for awhile
Why can't you see I'm not any certain style
--
I'll party when I'm ready to
I'll celebrate when I'm no longer blue
--
I'm not happy but I'm not miserable
I'm in love but I'm nobody's fool
--
The stars call me to go outside and clear my head
The lonely room chains me to this tomb of a bed
--
No one heals at the same speed or pace
No one sees that I need to be alone in this space
--
My grief is thick and heavy and real
My priority isn't you understanding how I feel
--
Let me breathe and weep and mourn
Let me have your support and not your scorn
--
It won't be forever, I will get over this pain
And then we'll paint and party and look at the stars again

Wow! Sending hugs! 🫂
They say there’s always tomorrow, but that’s a fallacy. Still, I get the need to sometimes hide under the covers. I hope you process successfully. Best line: Let me have your support, not your scorn. That hits the mark dead on. Thanks for sharing. Great job Sam.
This is so real and genuine. We all need to recognize that every feeling and mood has its purpose and place.
We have to always put ourselves first, if we don't we fade away
Such an honest and relatable piece! I felt each lime! well done, Sam!
Great affirmation after a heartbreak, Sam. In the last but one verse, shouldn’t it be “Let me breathe” not “breath”?
Such a powerful poem, beautifully written...
This was so deep, true and relatable. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️
Amen.
Sad poem but we live in a world not allowed to express our feelings but in truth we need to express them
