Kaleidoscope Soul- A drunker

A drunk Man........

By XavierPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

This poem delves into the chaotic and fragmented thoughts of a person in a state of heavy intoxication, portraying the world as a shifting, distorted landscape viewed through a kaleidoscope of emotions. It explores themes of disorientation, vulnerability, and the search for fleeting moments of clarity within the haze.

-------------Start-----------------------

The room breathes, or maybe it's me,

expanding, contracting, a drunken sea.

Floorboards tilt like a carnival ride,

and laughter echoes, nowhere to hide.

-----------------------------------------------

Words swim loose, unanchored and free,

slipping from my tongue, not quite me.

Each syllable a bubble, iridescent and frail,

popping on the air, leaving only a trail.

-------------------------------------------

Is that music, or just the blood in my ears?

A throbbing pulse that amplifies fears,

or maybe it's joy, a reckless abandon,

a forgotten melody, a tattered old canon.

-------------------------------------------------

Faces blur, morphing, then fade,

ghosts of memories, a masquerade.

Did I say too much? Did I reveal too little?

The questions spin, a maddening riddle.

-----------------------------------------------------

A hand reaches out, a comforting touch,

or is it a phantom, meaning so much?

I cling to the moment, a desperate plea,

for a harbor of calm in this turbulent sea.

-------------------------------------------------------

There, a flicker of truth, a star in the night,

a sliver of clarity, burning so bright.

Then darkness returns, a velvet embrace,

erasing the edges, leaving no trace.

-------------------------------------------------------

Tomorrow will come, with its judgment and pain,

but tonight, I'm adrift in this intoxicating rain.

A kaleidoscope soul, shattered and bright,

searching for solace in the fading light.
