Come walk down
The grocery store sidewalk aisle.
Take off the rose-colored glasses,
Wave, see yourself smile.
Strutting your stuff
Through the neighborhood display.
Watching bustling people
Like meat puppets in a play.
Living our lives
as if on a separate shelf.
In pretty packages
Re-arranging the self.
Ignoring that we are all
sold the same.
In flesh and bone boxes
Surviving life’s game.

Awesome and unique poem! Really enjoyed it
There is such a beautiful hidden meaning in this piece ( at least to me) it resonated. your descriptions and play on words was beautiful.
like this one a lot, nice analogy.
Nice job Megan!
Wow, Meg, your poem "Life's Game" is truly thought-provoking and beautifully written. Your use of imagery and metaphors, such as "meat puppets in a play," really captured the sense of people being controlled by society's expectations and living their lives on autopilot. Your words remind us that we are all living similar lives, and that it's important to take off our rose-colored glasses and truly see ourselves and those around us. Your poem has inspired me to be more mindful of my actions and decisions, and to not be afraid to break free from societal norms and expectations. Thank you for sharing your talent and perspective with the world. I look forward to reading more of your work!
a thought-provoking commentary on society interesting to read..........
