Lonely But Good Life

Away from psychopathy of the society

I live in a foreign land,

immigrant life, mostly lonely.

no support system,

yes, sometimes it feels scary,

but there is relief too.

I will tell you why.

My parents live in one place,

for several decades,

surrounded by people

they have known for generations,

opposite situation than mine.

But did they live happily?

In cozy cocoon of community?

No.

When a group of people

who are unhappy with themselves

are placed in tight spaces

with too much time,

little purpose, no freedom

not enough nature to heal,

no creativity, and self-expression,

they begin to resent one another.

They project, displace

manipulate, gaslight, isolate,

many other psychopathy

of sick society.

These ugly acts continue,

till the grave calls.

So, I adore my rather lonely life.

with little family, backyard,

leafy neighborhood,

art, writing, learning,

make it worth enjoying,

I call it good life.

<3 Life is hard with no support <3 A loving family makes everything easier, though.

Totally agree with you on this one. If you are alone there's no one around to blame things on you. One is not truly alone as long as you believe in God or that higher power. Good job.

Yes, it's better to be alone than be surrounded by negative people. Loved your poem and painting
