Magical Stars

A poem and a song

By Rasma RaistersPublished about 13 hours ago 1 min read

The magical stars in the sky,

always twinkle so merrily.

They make me think of the smiles -

of my loved ones who’ve passed on.

I long to reach out

and touch a star above,

but they are so very high -

dancing in the dark.

Shooting stars have brought me,

a lot of fine wishing,

for things I have longed for

and times that will never come again.

I rejoice each night,

when that velvet blanket,

gets laid across the skies.

I know that the moon.

will come out to play

and all of those magical stars -

will be blinking brightly.

Love to watch the night clouds,

play shadow games with the moon,

as I begin to drift and dream soon.

Even in a wintry frozen sky,

like diamonds they shine,

making me want to make them mine.

I often wonder,

if there are paths of stars,

which I could follow—

to magical and mystical places,

where fantasy castles,

fill quiet spaces.

Dreams of flying carpet rides,

passing through the sky,

never wondering why,

just flying up so high.

Stars so wondrous,

always put on a show,

up there in the night sky,

as the moon knowingly—

winks down on me.

The magical stars,

that are heaven-sent,

are those that come dancing,

upon a sultry, summer wind,

while the scent of jasmine fills the air

and you and I go dancing, dear,

beneath the magical stars—

as a sweet night melody plays.
