Beneath a silent blue sky, I watch birds and drifting clouds,

When the acrid stench of burning buildings and bodies filled the air.

Blood pools thick on my tongue - metallic and warm,

The roar of planes and drones shatters the air, piercing my ears,

My body burns, now raw and numb, a shrapnel lodged within.

Love it. I read it like some of those NPC's voices from the Elden Ring game.

Ah, the fragility of peace, and the destruction of war. Beautifully written. :)
