Before I opened my eyes,
the word was in my mind—
but I did not know its meaning.
Mezmur.
In the Ethiopian tongue it means:
Sacred Song,
Spiritual Song,
Psalm…
Song of the Holy Spirit.
It wasn’t long after that
I began to write
again.
My daughter was born—her name,
Selah.
And the way my words came:
At times lament,
At times praise,
Read like a psalm.
But I did not know it at first.
One night I asked God,
“What do You want me to write?”
And it felt like a calling—
Mezmur.
One day, I asked God
to give me a new name.
And it came in a whisper—
Mezmur.
I was called to be
Song.
Living, breathing,
Worship with every breath,
Every movement,
Every step.
Beauty and honor in motion,
Cause for praise to God.
A Light,
Heart, moving,
Spirit-filled,
Set apart,
Sanctified,
Wholly surrendered.
Canticle.
Oracle.
Of Divine Demand.
I am Mezmur—
For the Lamb,
By His hand,
At His command.
In my prayer room,
Leading angel band
"Sing with me,
you heavenly hosts—
Let me write now
a new song.
Carry it
to Heaven’s throne,
as we worship
God alone."
Hallelujah!
Mezmur sings
Hallelujah
To the King
Immortal
Invisible
To my eyes
I give my body
A reasonable
Living Sacrifice
Hallelujah
For all He's done
From Crucified
To Risen
Seated
On the Throne
Jesus,
Worthy
Glorious
King!
I raise
My voice now to sing
I am Mezmur
Your little Song
Look at me
When you
Want to
Hear
Praise—
Praise...
I'll live my life to
Praise!
Hallelujah!
Selah.
