Night Took My Shadow
A terrifying thing to go through

Night Took My Shadow
Night pulled my shadow,
Far from my feet,
Dragging it slowly,
Into the street.
The lamps flickered low,
Trembling with fear,
Holding the silence,
Drawing me near.
I felt the pavement,
Shiver with sound,
Something was coming,
Up from the ground.
A cold breath circled,
Thin as a thread,
Touching my shoulders,
Filling with dread.
My shadow twisted,
Longer than mine,
Reaching for corners,
Crossing each line.
I tried to follow,
Step at a time,
Knowing the darkness,
Wanted my mind.
The wind turned bitter,
Carrying cries,
Echoes of moments,
Fallen from skies.
Still night keeps moving,
Closer each hour,
Holding my shadow,
Inside its power.

This one will make one think. What if the night could take your shadow what would you do? Good job.
